Gorgious Covers

Naturals (The Lost Souls #2)
by Tiffany Truitt

YA Science Fiction

Tess is finally safe from the reach of the Council, now that she is living in the Middlelands with the rebel Isolationists. With James having returned to Templeton, she easily falls back into her friendship with Henry, though her newfound knowledge of Robert’s chosen one status still stings. Even surrounded by people, Tess has never felt more alone. So she’s thrilled when James returns to the settlement, demanding to see Tess — until she finds out that it’s because her sister, Louisa, has been recruited into Tess’s old position at Templeton, and that the dangerously sadistic chosen one George has taken an interest in her.

My Thoughts:
I am drawn to the red immediately. So bright and vibrant. There's something so serene to this cover. Maybe it's because her eyes are shut? It shouldn't look so comfortable though. I wan to lay down with this girl even though the hard cracked earth beneath her shouldn't be comfy. The font reminds me of the Dyslexic font, lettering designed so each letter looks different... supposedly easier for dyslexics to read, less of a chance of them thinking that "a" looks like an "e." I really don't have much of a guess about this book based on the cover. The designer utilized the rule of thirds very well. The cover is broken out into thirds. 1/3 = cracked earth, 1/3 = red hair, 1/3 = fair skin. Speaking of, she's going to fricassee in that blistering sun I imagine is above her.
