The Selection #2
by Kiera Cass
Publication Date: April 23rd, 2013
The selection began with 35 girls. Now, with the group narrowed down to the Elite, the competition to win Prince Maxon's love is fiercer than ever. The closer America gets to the crown, the more she struggles to figure out where her heart truly lies. Each moment she spends with Maxon is like a fairy tale, filled with breathless, glittering romance. But whenever she sees her first love, Aspen, standing guard, she's swept up in longing for the life they'd planned to share.
America is desperate for more time. But while she's torn between her two futures, the rest of the Elite know exactly what they want—and America's chance to choose is about to slip away.
My Thoughts:
I fell in love with the first book in this series. There's something about a monotones color with a girl in a gorgeous dress that makes any YA heart flutter. Sadly, I heard book #1 didn't really live up to it's cover. That's a shame. This cover is really hard to decipher. I would gather that the main character has many tough choices to make in this novel, some of which could mean death if she takes a wrong turn. Obviously, the flouncy font and the blatant crown tells us it has something to do with royalty... duh!
**Note: I write my opinion on the cover before I read the blurb. That way I have an unbiased reaction and assumption.
